The two set out for a drive west to Aratula, picking up some of their favorite pies from the local bakery along the way. They explored potential wedding venues but nothing quite felt right. Eventually, they drove up to the Kooralbyn Lookout for a picnic with a view. As Jacqueline unpacked the cooler bag, she noticed that everything inside — from the cured meats to the Portuguese tarts — had a story behind it, a reminder of the moments they’d shared together.

While Jacqueline was lost in the little details, David was quietly preparing for one of the biggest moments of their lives. He took a single photo of the valley, put the camera down, and with a nervous grin, pulled out a ring box. A few steps closer, he dropped to one knee and asked Jacqueline to marry him.
